Brian McLaren gives me a "thumbs up"

Lisa - good to hear from you. Sorry for the delay in responding. I'm
in the middle of a really hectic travel and writing schedule, but as
you contact publishers, you can let them know I have expressed
willingness to be an endorser for the book. The book looks really
good!

When you have a publisher and have been through the editing process,
have the publisher send me a hard copy, with as much lead time as possible ...

You're obviously a gifted writer with a needed message. I look forward
to hearing more from you in the future, and to meeting someday. Keep
up the good work! - Brian

I'm just in AWE. This whole this has been quick and surreal journey. It's not over yet.

I'll keep you posted.

Hey Lisa,

How's it going? How is your son doing?

Congrats on your endorsements! How'd you do it?
I too am working on a manuscript -- a rough draft is finished, and I just got Becky Garrison (Red and Blue God, Black and Blue Church) to agree to write a quote once I get a publisher. I'm not really sure who else to contact, or what the real "protocol" is -- I just found Becky on my space and asked her to check out some of my work. My book's more geared toward a secular, seeking or disillusioned audience than an emergent crowd specifically, although I think alot of emerging folks would get a kick out of the satire and have some fun and inspiring moments along the way. It's called "Memoirs of a Book Flirt" and finds its context in my book browsing habit and the way I seek out answer's to life's little and big questions from the books I meet. The book will explore everything from being a devoted mother, but not JUST a mother to breasts and breastfeeding, religion, politics and a whole bunch of other crazy, fun, meaningful real life stuff that I can simultaneously wrestle and satirize, with a note of hope, but no easy answers. Would you be interested in swapping manuscripts and offering each other some feedback?

Hey, BTW, how far are you from Philly?

Hey, girl. Nice to hear from you.
I got endorsements by just asking like you did. I like your idea. If you could get a secular publisher it might help break into the audience you'd like to target.

My son has his ups and downs. Today was good. Yesterday tough. There's so much he can't say. He's 6.5, but talks in broken English. My girl could out talk him at 2.5 years old. But he's smart, so that helps. He can read as well as the others kids and is getting straight A's. He get one-to-one instruction for reading, spelling adn math. PRaISE GOD. It's been a very hard jounrey. I hope to write about it one day. What a teacher he is to my soul.

I'm north of Reading about 35 minutes and from IKEA about 1 hour 15 min. It depends where in Philly, about 2 hours or a bit less.

If you'd like to send your manuscript. I'd love to read it. I'm very tied up right now, but would enjoy the down time NOT reading my own things! Go to my website and use my email through there. I actually tried to find your email before and couldn't.

I'm really crunching to get a proposal out, so I have to run. I hope we meet up someitme soon.
